JOHN SHEARER
John Shearer has always been deeply influenced by the arts. Fueled by a mentor relationship with the iconic rock photographer Jim Marshall when he was still in college, he now specializes in entertainment portraiture and key art, advertising, album covers, and backstage documentary coverage - working alongside a wide variety of artists, record labels, brands, TV networks, and publications.
Whether he’s photographing album covers, key art, documenting concert tours, or photographing talent at major awards shows, his focus remains the same - relationships. Shearer believes that at the crux of great work is creative collaboration and trust, which both his images and his long-standing clients (Bob Dylan, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, among others) speak to.
After moving from Los Angeles, he has been based in Nashville for 7 years, and has a studio in the Nations area of town. When he’s not behind a camera, he is spending time with his wife - The Home Edit co-founder Clea Shearer - and two children. While based in Nashville, Shearer’s work takes him all over the world.
